Building an Inclusive Organization (Sunday 11/15)
Date & Time
About the Event
This interactive workshop is a macro-level look at the inclusivity in your organization's public-facing identity statements. If your organization is a human-centered brand or sport league (I see you roller derby) with the intention of being inclusive and welcoming this workshop is for you.
We'll get to know William Glasser's Five Basic Needs and how they address inclusivity and exclusivity at a high level in organizational identity. Bring an easily accessible copy of your organization's most prominent public-facing identity statement such as mission, vision, values or purpose because we'll go through a step-by-step process to assess if your organizational statement is inclusive of people's basic needs or if you have biases and exclusivity hidden in plain sight.
If your organization is challenged by diversifying staff or members/clients, examining the inclusivity in your public identity statements is one way to identify roadblocks to building a welcoming organization.
This workshop is designed both for people in leadership roles and for people who want to improve and advance the inclusive and welcoming nature of their organization from within.
You'll leave with an understanding of people's basic needs people and how to address them in your organization’s public identity statements.
