About the Event

Carrots instead of Sticks - a discussion seminar on roller derby league policy

Free, 1-hour session featuring thoughts on how to create a derby league driven by achievement instead of fear of punishment followed by an open discussion with all attendees invited to participate.

Does it bother you that your league policy is punishment oriented? Is the need for punishers keeping league-mates from taking on leadership or volunteer roles where they may be put in the position of needing to punish their friends/teammates? Does the punishment oriented vibe bum you out and make you wish there was a better way?

Join me for this discussion of an alternative model based on achievement and thoughts on how to apply this model in your league. This discussion is designed for anyone involved in a derby league, on skates or off, regardless of role or position. Skaters, officials, captains, committee members, board members and volunteers are all invited. You are requested to be video-on for the entire meeting and be prepared to unmute for the discussion.
